Psi Sigma Delta Student Leaders

President – The President represents Psi Sigma Delta to the public. The President chairs the business meetings using a simplified version of Robert’s Rules of Order and also performs the following duties: refereeing debates, protecting the majority rule, protecting the minority opinion, and keeping the meetings orderly, efficient, and friendly. The President presides over the officer meetings and provides support to the appointed positions and committees. 

Vice President – The Vice President chair business meetings in the President’s absence. The Vice President compiles the agenda for each meeting and notifies all members of the agenda at least a week before the meeting. The Vice President is responsible for answering member questions regarding agenda items and making general announcements at each meeting. 

Secretary – The Secretary processes member applications and maintains the membership roster. The Secretary acts as liaison regarding the chapter’s meeting locations and takes attendance at each business meeting to determine if a quorum is present. The Secretary also conducts a roll call vote should the President request it. 

Treasurer – The Treasurer maintains the chapter’s bank account, deposits member dues, and writes checks as necessary for PSD business purposes. The Treasurer must prepares a detailed report of the activity in the chapter’s checking account for presentation to the membership at each meeting. The Treasurer must signs the report and obtain a witness to check the report against the related bank statement. The Treasurer makes the next year’s budget and recommends the amount to be charged for membership dues based on that budget. 

Communications Officer – The Communications Officer communicates important or time-sensitive information to the membership. The Communications Officer has the responsibility of keeping PSD’s website up to date and sending out the weekly email updates. 

Alternate Officer – The Alternate Officer fills the position and duties of another officer, should they be absent for a meeting. The alternate officer should be familiar with the duties of all officers (except President), so that they can perform their job well.

Events Committee Leaders – The events committee leader directs the events committee. The events committee leader should keep the members of his/her committee on track with their duties and is responsible for the turnout of all PSD activities including the awards ceremony. 

Community Service Committee Leader – The community service committee leader directs the community service committee. The community service committee leader should keep the members of his/her committee on track with their duties and is responsible for ensuring that all service projects are planned and scheduled ahead of time.

Speaker Coordinator – The speaker coordinator finds and schedules speakers for PSD’s business meetings. The officer team and members alike are encouraged to give the speaker coordinator suggestions for potential speakers.
